An informative and supportive day for choral directors of all levels of experience, from beginner to highly experienced, whether they work with church or secular choirs, and an essential day for those preparing for (or considering) the College’s Choral Directing Diploma. The programme is based around the Diploma syllabus which, in its written and practical components, encompasses a broad range of issues of direct relevance to all those working with choirs. A professional-standard chamber choir will be present for the afternoon session. In both sessions you may participate actively as a conductor or passively as an observer.
Paul Spicer, who leads the event, is Professor of Choral Conducting at both the Royal College of Music and at Birmingham Conservatoire, at both of which institutions he also directs the Chamber Choir. He is also Conductor of the Finzi Singers and the Birmingham Bach Choir. He has acted as an examiner for the DipCHD.
