Norwich Organ Study Day

Saturday 1st April 2017 (09:30 – 18:00)

Calling all organists, and anyone interested in what goes on up in the organ loft! An exciting day to experience playing and hearing the grand organ of Norwich Cathedral, one of the largest organs in the country, and the acclaimed 1984 north German neo-classical style organ of St Peter Mancroft Church. 09:30 Norwich Cathedral Organist David Dunnett demonstrates the organ of Norwich Cathedral
10:00 David Dunnett and Julian Haggett (Organist, St Peter Mancroft and RCO Regional Consultant, Norfolk) lead a class on the Cathedral organ for players of all standards and observers. Only eight playing places are available - bring any repertoire.
12:15 Lunch break (please note that lunch is not provided)
13:10 Public celebrity lunchtime concert by Henry Fairs (Head of Organ, Birmingham Conservatoire) at St Peter Mancroft, with 'Big Screen'. (Admission free - retiring collection)
14:00 Henry Fairs leads a masterclass for advanced players and observers on German Baroque music at St Peter Mancroft Church. Only six playing places are available to ensure sufficient time for each student.
17:00 Tea break
17:30 Platform concert given by players from the afternoon masterclass. Open to all observers, participants and their family and friends to attend. (Admission free)


Please note that there are no all-day player passes remaining, nor player places for the afternoon masterclass.
