The fourth OrganFest, organised jointly by the College, the British Institute of Organ Studies, the Incorporated Association of Organists and Hull & East Riding Organ Group, takes place on 8 and 9 September.
We are delighted to be visiting Hull – the UK 2017 City of Culture – with its magnificent 4-manual Compton organ in the City Hall.
There will be a ‘Desert Island Discs’ featuring BBC presenter (and organist!) Huw Edwards; recitals by Kevin Bowyer and Colin Walsh; contributions from, among others, John Scott Whiteley (festival organiser), Darius Battiwalla, Simon Lindley, Gordon Stewart and Andrew McCrea; a celebration of Francis Jackson to mark his 100th birthday; events for young organists; and presentations from on the Orgelbüchlein Project and Hull organ-builders Forster & Andrews.
See http://organfest.org.uk/ for more details.
