Repertoire masterclass with David Briggs

The first of two masterclasses in the region on Thursday 15 March given by the international concert organist and composer David Briggs.

This class is for organists of Grade 6 standard and above, and will focus on free-choice repertoire. Six places (max.) are available for players and there is an unlimited number of places for observers. The moveable console will allow for those attending as observers to be fully engaged. Everyone can be expected to learn more about:

> articulation
> phrasing
> registration
> ornamentation
> tempi
> context

What to prepare
Repertoire of any period - which might include transcriptions - will sound persuasive on this fine four-manual instrument. Playing particpants should choose a piece or pieces lasting no more than about 15mins.
