Three webinars on the ARCO fugal techniques question

Tuesday 14th July 2020 (20:00) – Tuesday 28th July 2020 (21:00)
Online

Are you a candidate for ARCO or FRCO (the topics listed below will not be covered separately in the FRCO fugue webinars in the autumn), considering taking it, or someone, perhaps not an organist, who wishes to expand their understanding of music theory? If so sign-up for this series of three free webinars on the requirements for the ARCO fugal techniques question, taught by Dr Frederick Stocken. The easy-to-use Zoom platform will be used for delivery (click here for video tutorials on using Zoom.).

A small number of places are available for active participants and up to 90 for observers. Active participants will be visible on screen and will be able to ask questions at designated points in each webinar. They will also be invited to email examples of their work to Frederick Stocken after each session. Whilst such work will not be marked or corrected, as would be the case for one-to-one tuition, Dr Stocken will select examples from submissions for discussion in the next webinar.

Webinar 1: Tuesday 14 July, 20:00–21:00 BST: Finding a fugal answer.
Webinar 2: Tuesday 21 July, 20:00–21:00 BST: Brief review of submitted work; writing a countersubject
Webinar 3: Tuesday 28 July, 20:00–21:00 BST: Brief review of submitted work; writing an episode leading to a first middle entry
