Clearing Away the Cobwebs III: Repertoire

Saturday 18th June 2022 (13:30 – 16:30)
Riga Rose, Scout Close, Mytholmroyd, Near Hebden Bridge, HX7 5JU, Yorkshire

The COVID pandemic affected everybody, including all of us in the organ world. As we attempt to get back to a new normality, there is a need to ‘clear away the cobwebs’ that have gathered during lockdown. What better opportunity to liberate your playing by attending these workshops led by Professor David Baker at his home in Mytholmroyd? The classes are in association with the Halifax Organ and Choral Academy and are aimed at players of all standards, backgrounds and contexts. Subject to places, observers are also welcome at all three classes.

Bring any piece and get help and inspiration from David on either or both organs in his house. You will leave with fresh ideas for improving your technique and developing your repertoire.

What to prepare

Prepare any music up to a total length of 7 minutes. The chamber organ is ideal for Baroque, especially English Baroque, repertoire. The main four-manual Content digital organ is suitable for any repertoire.

A discount is available for people wishing to attend all three classes. Please contact Tom Bell for details of this.

Fee: £35 RCO Members; £45 non-members (£15/£20 observer places also available)
