Note that the 24-hour clock is used on all event listings. For classes, the following key is used as a guide to level and suitability : Beginner (Grades 1-4); Intermediate (Grades 4-6); Advanced (Grades 6-8 / CRCO); Diploma 1 (CRCO–ARCO); Diploma 2 (ARCO–FRCO); All Standards. Play the Organ - how to start and develop your skills

Saturday 13th October 2018 (13:30 – 16:30)
Cranleigh School Chapel GU6 8QQ

This event is jointly promoted by Surrey Organists Association (SOA) and the Royal College of Organists (RCO) and hosted by Cranleigh School.
Admission is free. Donations to help defray the costs are invited.

Schedule
13.30 Opportunity to have a go on Cranleigh School's magnificent organ and to talk informally about free 'taster' organ lessons. Bring a piano piece by a 17th- or 18th-century composer if you can.

14.00 SOA Organ Student Scheme: Ian Church, SOA Chairman, explains and answers questions.

14.15 Workshop: current organ students demonstrate the organ, using pieces at different levels (players of grades 2–grade 6 level are invited to play––see 'Booking' section below) Simon Williams, RCO Director for the East, South and South West gives feedback on their performance, using the marking criteria for the RCO's Certificate of Accredited Membership (CAM).

15.30 Informal discussion over refreshments and more opportunity for playing.
