Scandinavia Study Trip

Sunday 17th May 2020 – Thursday 21st May 2020
Denmark and Sweden

This year’s overseas study trip for diploma level organists aged 18 and above takes in some of Denmark and Sweden’s oldest and most notable instruments with tuition from Bine Bryndorf and from group leader Richard Brasier.

Play Renaissance miniatures on the Compenius organ of the Frederiksborg Slotskirke, Baroque masterpieces in Roskilde, and Buxtehude in Helsingør where he was organist, all under the guidance of internationally renowned teacher and recitalist Bine Bryndorf.

Group leader, RCO accredited teacher and international recitalist Richard Brasier will offer guidance on adapting to historic instruments on the 1531 Genarp organ of Malmö Museum, and insights on the vibrant music of a young J.S. Bach at St Mary’s Church in Helsingborg. There will also be an opportunity to play romantic repertoire on the iconic instruments of Copenhagen Cathedral, and Vor Frelsers Kirke.

The eight playing places and two observer places on the study trip sell out quickly, so don’t delay! Scroll down to book online, to download the itinerary and for more details about the organs, and for information of two available bursaries towards the cost of fees.

The opportunities afforded by this trip will be of great value to all organists of diploma standard (and over the age of 18), and of particular interest to those preparing for or considering entering all playing diplomas.
