Membership of the Royal College of Organists is open to anyone who takes an interest in organ and choral music and the related arts, whether you play, conduct, teach, compose or simply appreciate and enjoy the music.

To apply to join, please read the following details and complete the form below.

Subscription Rates

The College runs a fixed membership year from 1st July to 30th June. New members joining at any point in the year will therefore become a member of the College until the subsequent 30th June, when their membership will be due for renewal. Please note the following variations, which may apply to the first year of membership:

Application Form

To make your application, please fill out the details below. All values are required except where indicated as optional.

Once you have submitted the form you will have the opportunity to complete your application with an online payment. Please note that your membership will not be confirmed until payment is accepted.

You will also be sent a welcome email containing your membership number, a password for the website, and alternative ways of completing your subscription payment if you did not make it at the point of application.

To ensure you receive our email, we recommend adding admin@rco.org.uk to your contacts list or to the 'safe sender' list in the junk or spam mail settings of your email client / software (you can normally find details in the Help function in your software if you are unsure how to do this). If you still do not receive your email, please check your spam / junk mail folder before contacting the College.

ISM Membership

If you are a member of the RCO and the Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM) you can claim a 25% discount on one (but not both) of the annual subscriptions. If you are a member of the ISM and would like to apply the discount to this new RCO membership, please tick the box and enter your ISM membership number.

If instead you would like to use this new membership to apply the discount to your existing ISM subscription, please contact ISM at membership@ism.org.



Contact Preferences

The College sends members notification of events and courses for organists, and other relevant news, through email roughly once a month.




Information held on the College database is held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. It will be used exclusively for the administration of your membership by the College and its partner agencies and will not be given or sold to any third party without your consent.

In addition to regular membership benefits including the College newsletter, RCO News, we may also email you with news of upcoming events and courses, and sometimes notices from other members. You have the right to opt out of receiving these emails (or indeed other College publications) by indicating above, or by contacting the College at any time on 05600 767208, or by email or post.
