Dr John Kitchen, whose acclaimed recording of the wonderfully colourful and varied complete organ works of William Russell was released in late 2008, is joined by Dominic Gwynn whose company, Goetze and Gwynn, restored the 1829 Bishop organ at St James Bermondsey in 2002, for a day exploring the compositional techniques and sound world of Russill’s wonderfully varied works for organ on an instrument which is perfectly matched their demands. The day will include talks, demonstrations and a masterclass.
