Annual General Meeting 2022

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Royal College of Organists will be held online at 17.00 on Friday 11 March 2022.

To ensure that attendance and voting is restricted to RCO members, registration beforehand will be required. To register please send an e-mail to with your request. You will then be sent a link enabling you to join the meeting via the Zoom video conferencing platform.

Requests for registration should be received no later than 17:00 on Thursday 10 March.

The meeting will transact the following business:

1. To approve the Minutes of the AGM held online on 13 March 2021
2. To receive the Annual Report of the Trustees and the Audited Accounts for the year ended 30 June 2021
3. To appoint the College’s auditors for the coming year
4. To ratify the election of members to the College’s Trustee Council

Notice is also given of two Special Resolutions to change the Byelaws of the College, pursuant to Byelaw 15 (3).

1. To amend the categories of College Membership, pursuant to Byelaw 6 (1) to include a new category of Basic Membership, together with all such consequential amendments to the Byelaws as may then become necessary only for the sake of consistency.

2. To amend Byelaw 29 in order to codify the timetable and procedure for elections to the Trustee Council as follows -

(i) Nominations for appropriate vacancies on the Trustee Council (including trustees seeking election for a second four-year term) must be made by any Member of the College at least 42 days before the Annual General Meeting.

(ii) Ballot papers are to be circulated to the Membership at least 35 days before the Annual General Meeting, being returned to the College on a date to be fixed not more than 14 days thereafter.

(iii) The result of the election is to be published not more than 2 working days after the date fixed for the return of the ballot papers.

(iv) Any unsuccessful candidate who wishes to challenge the outcome of the election must do so within 7 days of being notified of the result.

Any member wishing to raise a question at the AGM should submit this in writing to the College not less than 21 days before the date of the meeting.
