Music isn’t made for eyes, it’s made for ears— towards CRCO and ARCO Aural

Thursday 4th November 2021 (18:00) – Thursday 2nd December 2021 (19:00)
Online

RCO Accredited Teacher Robin Harrison, a contributor to The Routledge Companion to Aural Skills Pedagogy, leads a course of five, weekly one-hour sessions ideal for those preparing for or considering CRCO and ARCO, or ABRSM grades 7–8. Dates: Thursdays 18:00–19:00 hrs, 4, 11, 18, 25 November and 2 December.

This course is inspired by, but not specifically limited to the teachings of Kodály and will make the most of the advantages of online teaching, allowing everybody to practise whilst muted, ask questions as needed, and avoid falling into the trap of waiting for someone else to ‘give the lead’. No one will be asked to sing aloud to the group! Just eight places are available and you must book for the series of five classes.

Join this course if you can sight-sing short simple melodies; see a rhythm and know exactly how it will sound; hold your part in a simple round.  But where do you go next?

Content includes:

By the end of the course you will:

Each session will be recorded and available to those attending to rehearse with between classes and for a short time after the end of the course.

We also offer a preparatory course ideal for those not yet ready for CRCO aural and/or working for ABRSM grades 1–6. Click here for details.
