An essential day in the heart of Central London for teenage organists from grade 5 to grade 8+ level using two excellent organs and two superb teachers. Only 12 places are available so early booking is advised.

What you can expect from this day
Two sessions of repertoire coaching on Baroque and later music
Coaching on essential keyboard musicianship skills: sight reading and transposition
A session on church service playing focussing on hymn playing

The teachers
Richard Gowers is Director of Music at St George's Church, Hanover Square. Active also as a pianist and conductor, he is a former organ scholar of King's College, Cambridge and teaches at Cambridge University and the Royal Academy of Music.
David Pipe is artistic director of the RCO's The Organ Student Experience (TOSE) Week. He was the founding director of the Diocese of Leeds' Keyboard Studies Programme and is Organist of Huddersfield Town Hall and Director of Music at Cartmel Priory.

Venues and Organs
St George's Hanover Square
is the parish church of London's Mayfair district. The three manual and pedal organ by Richards, Fowkes & Co. was installed in 2012 and has received huge acclaim for its beauty of sound and versatility.
The Grosvenor Chapel, South Audley Street houses a refined insturment built by William Drake Ltd in 1991 in the English 18th-century style complete with long compass manuals but with pedals and a balanced swell pedal. 

What to prepare
One or more pieces from the Baroque period.
One or more pieces by a composer/composers from the nineteenth century to the present day.
A hymn (optional).
