Saturday 25th September 2021 (10:00 – 17:00)

The Organists' Perfect (Re-)Starter Kit

St Mary's Church, Hillington PE31 6DQ (10:00 - 13:00) and St Peter's Church, Wolferton PE31 6HA (14:30 - 17:00), West Norfolk

The first of three linked classes in Norfolk this autumn taught by RCO Regional Consultant Julian Haggett provides the perfect (re-)starter kit with a full day of playing and learning.

Whether you are a complete beginner or an organist looking to rediscover playing after the pandemic this study day is a great way to do so while spending time with other players. Build your confidence playing two beautiful and historic organs situated on the Queen's idyllic Sandringham Estate at Hillington and Wolferton. There are places for just six players, with observer places now available.

Up-date 19.7.21: the six playing places are now fully booked; four reduced-price places for observers have been made available. Should a playing place become available, observers will be given first refusal to take it.

What to prepare
Hillington (10:00–13:00): any music for manuals only, though that by English composers of the 16th–early nineteenth centuries is ideal. Music, especially from the Baroque period, with pedals is also possible.
Wolferton (14:30–17:00): any music from c. 1800 onwards, especially English composers such as Parry and Stanford

In the evening there will be a 'Twilight Concert' at Hillington Church on the historic Snetzler organ, given by Julian Haggett. Booking in advance recommended. Click here to request details.
