CRCO, ARCO and FRCO Study Day—pieces, keyboard skills and aural

Saturday 25th November 2023 (11:00 – 17:00)
Lincoln's Inn Chapel, London WC2A 3QB

Come to Lincoln's Inn in Central London, just a short walk from Holborn and Chancery Lane underground stations, for a day devoted to the practical section (pieces and keyboard skills tests) and the aural question (from the written papers) of CRCO, ARCO and FRCO. This is suitable both for those preparing for the January examination session as too for those whose sights are set further ahead. You can attend for the whole day or just the morning/afternoon.

The organ at Lincoln's Inn is, like that at our London examination centre St Barnabas Church, Dulwich, a three-manual mechanical action instrument built by Kenneth Tickell. Click here for information and the specification.

The sessions on the aural question of the written papers will be tailored, as far as is possible in group teaching, to the experience of those attending, offering advice on how to prepare for and how to approach answering the questions, as well as practice in working past questions or similar examples.

In the practical sessions you can opt to take a turn in playing pieces and/or keyboard skills tests or to observe for the entirety of the session.

For teaching for the written papers please see the recordings of webinars given by Frederick Stocken at https://i.rco.org.uk/?content=all&category_name=&type=&s=frederick+stocken Several RCO Accredited Teachers offer teaching for the written papers, including by correspondence and online. Click here for details. See also the class 'Harmonising Bach Chorales - a practical approach at the keyboard'. Click here for details.
