Renaissance Chord Progressions—your gateway to structured improvisation

Thursday 3rd March 2022 (18:00) – Thursday 24th March 2022 (19:00)

Are you seeking to begin improvising? Or have you always shied away from it? Perhaps you have some experience but now want to give greater coherence to your creations? If you fall into any of these categories then these classes are for you, provided you are at least ABRSM grade 4 standard on the piano, keyboard or organ. The classes run online on Thursdays 3, 10, 17 and 24 March, 18:00–19:00 GMT.

Course content includes

All participants will be able to play throughout each class, either to the group (if they wish) or muted while others play. Everyone will be visible on screen and will be able to ask questions at any time.

Requirements in order to participate
• Attendance at all four classes
• A commitment to spend a minimum of one hour between classes practising at the keyboard
• A good broadband connection (ideally wired, but stable wireless if not) and fluency with Zoom technology. Click here for further information
• Your computer/tablet placed next to a piano, organ or any other keyboard
• If aged under 18 a parent, guardian or other trusted adult must be present in the same building for the duration of the class.

To maintain the highest quality learning experience, numbers on the course are strictly limited to 10 participants. You are advised to apply in good time.

About your teacher
Dr Robin Harrison is passionately committed to teaching organ, theory and aural at all levels to individuals and groups, in-person and online. An RCO Accredited Teacher, he is also Organist and Director of Music Yarm Parish Church, and a member of the Advisory Council of the National College of Music. Click here for more information.
