Click here (https://conference.rco.org.uk/) for full information and to book for the 2026 RCO Summer Course for Organists (incorporating Organ Explorers for 8–15-year-olds with or without prior keyboard playing experience). Read on to get a flavour of what is on offer.
Directed by Drew Cantrill-Fenwick, the RCO's famous Summer Course is an unmissable week for organists, whether beginner, early stage, intermediate or advanced; whether or not preparing for grade or diploma examinations or auditions; and whether a church organist or leisure player. We welcome all ages, though under 18s must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The Organ Explorers strand runs from Thursday 6–Saturday 8 August and is for children aged 8–15 who are beginning their keyboard journey at the organ, as too for pianists, and for those who have recently started learning the organ. Children on this strand do not need to be accompanied by an adult as full pastoral care is provided. Please note that accommodation and meals are NOT provided for either the main course or for Organ Explorers. See the course website for suggestions to explore.
The Course is based at St Giles Cripplegate Church in London's Barbican with its three pipe organs, and additionally uses a further 20+ pipe organs across Central London. Organ Explorers will include a visit to play the three organs in Westminster Abbey.
