Moult at Mancroft - a masterclass day with Daniel Moult

Saturday 22nd October 2022 (10:00 – 17:30)
St Peter Mancroft Church, Norwich, NR2 1QQ

Don't miss this chance to learn with one of the UK's most acclaimed teachers and performers whilst playing on a spectacular large three-manual organ.

Daniel Moult is Head of Organ Studies at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire as well as being in demand worldwide as a teacher and recitalist.

The 1984 west-gallery Peter Collins organ in St Peter Mancroft church is  voiced and constructed in accordance with 18th-century organ practice and tradition but a wide range of repertoire can be played on it.

Timetable
09:45 Church opens
10:00 Young organists' class (limited to nine players who are in full time education; observer places are now available; price includes attendance at Bach talk at 16:30)
13:00 Lunch break (lunch not provided)
14:00 Adult class (limited to six players; observer places may become available once the player places have sold)
16:30 21st-century Bach—Daniel Moult shares his thoughts on Bach performance (players in and observers of either of the two classes attend free of charge; others are welcome to book to attend)
17:30 End

Players in either of the two classes should prepare a piece of their own choice to play to Daniel Moult and may observe the other class without  charge. In choosing your piece, please bear in mind its suitability for the Collins organ, the length of time available to each player (only a section of longer works may be heard), and your confidence in being able to perform it well in a masterclass situation.

Please note that the observer fee covers attendance at either class or both - you do not need to pay twice - and that the fees to play or observe also include attendance at the Bach talk.

Fee: Young organist class (morning): £20 (RCO student members); £27 (others). Adult class (afternoon): £35 (RCO Members); £45 (others). Talk only: £5 (RCO Members); £10 (others). Observers (either class or both) RCO Member £17, Non-member £21
