In this, the first class to be promoted jointly by the RCO and the Liverpool Organists' Association, we welcome Edinburgh City Organist John Kitchen to the north west of England. John will lead a performance class on an excellent and substantial (56 speaking stops) Rushworth and Dreaper organ from that firm's best period. Details of the organ can be found here.
The class will be followed by a concert given by Tom Bell, at 7pm. People attending this class will be able to attend the concert free of charge.
Class requirements for players:
Approx Gd. 5 upwards.
As a performance class, ideally in this session the tutor would work with completed performances rather than a 'work in progress'.
Any repertoire would be welcome. However, please note that this organ is best suited to English music written after c.1850.
