Fee survey launched by RCO and ISM

Fee survey launched by RCO and ISM

The Royal College of Organists (RCO) and the Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM) have launched a new survey of rates paid to directors of music and organists in churches and other places of worship.

More than 550 organists took part in the last survey in 2015, making it the largest of its kind in the UK.

This year’s survey asks questions relating to work carried out in 2016, and asks musicians about payments for playing at both regular services and special services such as weddings and funerals.

The survey is carried out on behalf of the RCO and ISM by independent statisticians at the University of Reading. College members are strongly encouraged to participate – the more musicians who complete the survey the more authoritative the survey results will be.

To take part in the survey visit https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/Organists2017 and use the password: organists

The deadline for taking part is 30th June and the results will be published as soon as they are available, by both organisations.
