Judith Weir CBE at Leeds International Organ Festival

Judith Weir CBE (Master of the Queen’s Music) has been interviewed by Richard Mantle OBE (General Director of Opera North) in an event sponsored by the RCO as part of the Leeds International Organ Festival.

Judith Weir has many choral and organ works to her name, and was awarded the prestigious Royal College of Organists' Medal in 2020.

Recorded on Tuesday 8 June, this was the third such event held within one of the Leeds International Organ Festivals, the first being an interview with Martin Baker in 2018 and the second with Sir James MacMillan in 2019.

In light of the pandemic, Judith Weir’s interview become a centrepiece of this festival, with an online audience joining in and posing questions at the end of the session.

The film of this event will premiere at www.liolive.org.uk on Tuesday 15 June at 7pm, and be available afterwards for catch up viewing.
